What is MIMINA SPECIALTY FOODS?

We are a local food business that handcrafts artisanal products in small batches and made with fresh ingredients. We are based in Brooklyn, NY and distribute to all the U.S. and Puerto Rico. You can order our products thorough our website or contact us at info@miminafoods.com

What kind of products does MIMINA SPECIALTY FOODS offer?

We offer cookies such as "alfajores" butter cookies filled with dulce de leche, guava o 100% venezuelan chocolate,  dusty sweet cookies “polvorosas”,  mini ham breads "cachitos" among other seasonal products. We also offer catering,  “ready to eat” meals, personal chef services and cooking classes.

ORDERS/PEDIDOS

Can I place an order for a product that is not in the MIMINA SPECIALTY FOODS site?

You can contact us, and if we can make it, you can have it! We will provide costs and expected delivery date. We also offer “ready to eat” dishes, personal chef services where we can design a menu just for you (NYC only).

What is the minimum and maximum number of orders that can be done?

For some products, such as “polvorosas”, "alfajores" the minimum is a dozen, and the maximum is 6 dozens per shipping order. More than 6 dozens additional shipping costs may apply.

The ham bread, the minimum is 6 , and the maximum is 3 dozens per shipping order. More than 3 - additional shipping costs may apply.

The cake, the minimum is 1 and the maximum is 3 per shipping order. More than 3 - additional shipping costs may apply.

Jams and salts the minimum is 1 and the maximum is 5 per shipping order. More than 5 - additional shipping costs may apply.

SHIPPING/ENVIOS

How do you ship the products?

The products are sent through the postal service of the United States (USPS), using 2-day priority mail service.

If I place an order today, when can I expect delivery?

  • If the order is in the city of Brooklyn: You can pick them up at our place, 24 hours after your order is received.
  • If the order is for outside the city of New York: Orders are processed on the day they are received.
  • If the order is placed before 10 a.m. the order is processed the same day and delivered within 2-3 days.
  • If the order is placed after 10:00 AM it will be processed the next day and will be delivered within 3 to 4 days.
  • If the order is requires a specific delivery date, we process it according to your request.

How do you guarantee the freshness of your products?

MSF processes the orders as they are placed; your product gets delivered within 48 hours of being made. We make sure to package them so they are kept fresh and travel well. We freeze some of our products to make them safer for travel; you can easily reheat them for 15 minutes in the oven at 300 F once they arrive.

Do you ship all the products you have on the site?

No. Some products cannot be shipped. For example the “Chocolate” Marquesa and the Passion Fruit mousse are desserts that need to be kept refrigerated which prevents us form shipping them. Our bread, cakes and cookies can be shipped without a problem.

How do I place an order?

Through our website www.miminafoods.com  . In the SHOP section you will find all of our products from there you can place your order using a credit or debit card. If you have any questions you can contact us via email info@miminafoods.com for assistance with your order.

Can I change or replace any of the products of the “A little piece of Venezuela" box?

No. The box "A little Piece of Venezuela" is a sampling box created by MSF. However, if you want a 'box' with different products, we will be happy to do it according to your request.

How far in advance should I place my order for the box?

We recommend placing your order 10 days before the date you want to have the product delivered. However, in times of high postal traffic (Christmas, Thanksgiving) you should make your request / purchase 15 days before the date you want to have the product delivered.

Can I make changes to the order once you have made the purchase?

No, sorry.

Can I return a product after I’ve received it?

No, since the products are perishable we don’t want you to send them back. However if you are not 100% satisfied we will give you a refund minus shipping.

PAYMENTS/PAGOS

Can I pay in cash?

No, unfortunately we do not accept cash.

Can I send a check or make a deposit?

We prefer you make your payment through the site. However we can make an exception, so if you rather send a check please contact us at info@miminafoods.com
